When it comes to beauty, the supermodel was certainly a standard for many of us back in the day.
And just as we are all moving through the years, our favorite supermodels are doing the same… and guess what? They are doing it beautifully!
In fact, it would seem many of have turned their extreme outer beauty into even more inner beauty… which makes them even more beautiful now then they were at the peak of their modeling career to me.
I thought you would enjoy hearing some of their perspectives on growing older and beauty…
“It’s important to send the message to women that there isn’t an age limit on beauty.” Andie MacDowell, born in 1958
“We’re the generation that says 60 is the new 30. We don’t let the numbers shape us; we’re reshaping the numbers.” Christie Brinkley, born in 1954
“There aren’t any negatives to getting older, honestly. I think with age comes wisdom, and so how could you argue with that. I think that women are under too much pressure to try to look younger. I wouldn’t want to go back in time for anything. I am happy with who I am now.” Christy Turlington, born in 1969
“I don’t look the same as I did 20 years ago, nor should I.” Cindy Crawford, born in 1966
“A woman who is 50 can be as attractive as a girl who is 17 as long as she recognizes her own strengths.” Iman, born in 1955
“I don’t think beauty is reserved just for youth. Women want to look good, not young.” Elle Macpherson, born in 1964
“I don’t think of getting older as looking better or worse; it’s just different. You change, and that’s okay. Life is about change.” Heidi Klum, born in 1973
“I don’t worry about a number. I’m fine with aging.” Naomi Campbell, born in 1970
“If women weren’t reading about the constant pressure of aging, it might not be in their heads. And I don’t want any woman to feel that there are any limits imposed by age.” Helena Christensen, born in 1968
“I believe that women can be beautiful at any age. So while I am happy to get older, I still want to look good. I don’t want to look younger, just good.” Linda Evangelista, born in 1965
I know a few of these were my faves, number one being… Cindy Crawford! Still love her. She is truly an ageless beauty!
How about you? Did you have any faves? Does hearing these ladies perspectives open any new perspectives for you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts…
