Great… you’ve either already read my intro to your belief system or you’re just back from reading it, and it is my hope that you have a greater understanding of how your belief system was formed in the first place and how you are now using your belief system as a filtering system, only allowing into your awareness that which matches up with what you already hold to be true.
So, how does this affect the work we do with the Law of Attraction?
As a reminder, the Law of Attraction is simply the process of ‘sending out energy and attracting matching energy’.
The energy we send out is called our vibration, and our vibration is essentially the way we feel.
And while our belief system does contribute to our overall feeling, thus it does add to our vibration, even more importantly, our belief system is the filter we use to sort through all of the matching energy that the Law of Attraction sends back our way.
For example, you could be sending out a vibration of looking and feeling ageless and your vibration could be arranging things to where you really are starting to look and feel more ageless! Yay! But if you still have a belief (a filter) that says ‘I have no choice but to look and feel old at 40/50/60/70’, you will either (a) notice the changes that are happening, but distort them into something different than what they are, altering them to make them match what you believe to be true, (b) notice the changes that are happening, but discount that they could be real, or (c) not even notice the changes at all.
Or, you could be sending out a vibration of looking and feeling ageless, and perhaps there is some inspired action you need to take in order to begin creating or realizing the results, but you still have that belief (that filter) that says ‘I have no choice but to look and feel old at 40/50/60/70’. With that as your belief, the greatest beauty tool, wellness tool, wellness program, ageless living program, etc… could be sitting right in front of you, and you will either (a) notice the tool or program, but distort it into something different than what it is, altering it to make it match what you believe to be true (it may work for some, but it won’t work for me), (b) notice the tool or program, but discount that it could be real (too good to be true), or (c) not even notice the tool or program at all.
And speaking of taking action, you could be getting into an ageless vibe and be taking all kinds of positive action in achieving your goal of looking and feeling ageless, but if you still have that belief that says ‘I have no choice but to look and feel old at 40/50/60/70’, guess what’s going to happen? No matter how much action you take, your results will seem minimal and temporary, at best, and it will seem as if ‘you have no choice but to look and feel old at 40/50/60/70’. Because of your belief (your filter), you will (a) notice the results of your actions, but distort the results into something different than what they are, altering them to make them match what you believe to be true, (b) notice the results of your actions, but discount that they could be real (temporary), or (c) not even notice the results at all.
So, you see, all of the visualization, energy, and creative work that it takes to get into vibrational alignment with the state of being of your choosing is useless if your beliefs are still going to filter it all out.
If you’ve been having unexplained difficulties in working with the Law of Attraction, it’s a good indication that you probably have some conflicting programming going on within your belief system that is holding you back from truly living the life you would choose to create.
