Your vision board and/or vision story are fantastic for expanding your imagination and getting you into the vision of having your goal… but they’re also some of the greatest tools you can use to identify just what may be standing in your way of having that goal.
Napoleon Hill wrote:
“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”
So, do you believe you can actually have all that you’ve put into your vision board/story? Are you really ready to have it all?
Consciously, many would jump to an absolute, “Yes, I believe I can have what I’ve visioned for myself and, yes, I am so ready to have it all!”.
But, you see… it’s not our conscious thoughts and ideas that hold us back from having the things we say we would like to have and living the life we say we would like to live, it’s our unconscious beliefs that actually hold us back. Our unconscious beliefs are the filter system that sifts through the millions of bits of information sent our way, and reveal to our conscious mind only that which we are already familiar with. If our unconscious beliefs are not supportive of the life and living we would choose for ourselves, we call those limiting beliefs. For some techniques in identifying your unconscious limiting beliefs, check out Discovering Your Limiting Beliefs
With this in mind, I invite you to take another look at your vision board/story, and while doing so, tune in to the thoughts that come to mind. Get into the feeling of how it really feels for you to have the images on your vision board/story as a part of your life. Get quiet, tune in, and be very open and honest with yourself…
Now, tuning in to your vision board/story… what thoughts come to mind?
Are your thoughts positive and supportive of your goal? Are there any little nagging thoughts running in the back of your mind telling you reasons you can not have what is on your vision board or in your vision story? Are there any fearful thoughts coming up about the changes your life may experience in having your goal?
Also, check out your thoughts about not having your goal. You can be totally aligned with the ‘having’ of your goal, but be offering so much resistance to the ‘not having’ it that the resistance becomes your dominant vibration in relation to that goal.
Now, don’t go beating up on yourself if you do notice some negative thoughts. Whatever comes up is good… because these things are exactly what you need to work with in order to clear what stands between you and your goal.
Ready to get your thoughts and beliefs more aligned with your goal? I’ve created a five- part series on beliefs that you may find helpful. You can start with Beliefs – Part One: Your Belief System.
